Syl Carson, C.T.Y.T
Syl began her practice of Yoga over 15 years ago; however, it took on a significant role in her life ten years ago when she was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromayalgia.

At the recommendation of her doctor (who was from India) she began using her Yoga practice as a complimentary therapy for her new health challenges.

Syl’s Yoga practice has been an invaluable tool in RA symptom management. Her dedicated yoga practice allowed her to restore her range of motion and free herself from feeling controlled by health limitations. The Fibromayalgia symptoms have resolved entirely.

In 2000 she obtained her Certification as a Yoga Instructor from the White Lotus Foundation, Santa Barbara, CA (a non-dogmatic foundation that certifies from a therapeutic Hatha yoga approach)—this same year she Founded White Mountain Yoga, located in Provo, Utah.

Her Yoga space is cradled at the base of the 9000 foot Mount Timpanogos in the heart of the Wasatch Mountain range where Syl was born.

Syl's name means "From the Forest". She chose the name White Mountain Yoga because as she began her first yoga practice, it enlivened primordial memories of peace and balance in a place of bright white light and clear air;
A familiar scene for those that leave her class during the beautiful Utah Winter months.

In 2002 she was awarded certification as Advanced Master Thai Yoga Therapist from Saul David Raye.

Syl has received training in seven separate yoga modalities: Ashtanga, Hatha, Kundalini, Iyengar, Restorative, Chakra Yoga and “Nuad Bo Rarn” Traditional Northern Thai Yoga Therapy.

She uses her understanding of the subtle nuances of mind/body interplay as she teaches with compassion, and humor.

Syl has released eight Yoga guidebooks, two Yoga DVDs and Six CDs through White Mountain Multi-Media L.L.C.

In 2004 she partnered with best selling author Carol Tuttle in the 20 hour DVD Series: “Becoming a Vibrant Human Being”.

In addition to leading her White Mountain Yoga Series™ as well as workshops around the country each year, Syl also maintains a private Thai Yoga Therapy Practice Clientele.
